New growth series art tshirts (free tshirt, too!)
Hey Everybody! Dave and Josh here.
After months of no new art we finally come out of the woodwork. We’ve been armed with digital cameras and scanners, capturing all types of elements from nature: clouds and textures, tree trunks and branches, twigs and berries. Of course it also involved numerous trips to the library, thumbing dozens of books for just the right bits and pieces to scan. (Obscurity is key when picking good collage references.)
We present to you, our fine visitors, our new series of nature-inspired art — on t-shirts!
We’re really interested in feedback, so I wanted to post this here and get some reactions. Which shirts do you like best? Tell us why. Most interesting comment gets a free shirt of their choice so use ‘yer real email address.

The last shirt is so eerie. I love how it looks like creepiness just barfed on the shirt – I really love it! good job on these new designs!

I vote for ‘Circulate’. Its intricately layered biology reminds me of this:
in a world dominated by the digital / the metronome i listen to beats inside of my chest / it speeds up with a level of stress / it’s built to last, but analog at best –RJD2
We’re all still natural beings… eyes wide, trying to keep up simply observing this exponentially accelerating world.

I LOVE the new designs and are so happy to see that you are back. I just purchased the raven pillow and I love it. Keep up the good work, and thank you for all of your wonderful art! It’s an inspiration to me, and I’m sure many many others.

I love my super tank shirt that I got a while back. Too bad I cant wear it anymore as I Have went on a diet and lost 35 pounds. Really did enjoy the art on my shirt while I was a bit of a pudge.

Swamp Thing. Your new art reminds me of the friggin’ Swamp Thing–an environmentalist of the old skool!

I love your new designs. All of them! I just bought Veins of Thoughts and its awesome! I wish Circulate was available on dark tshirt. It all reminds me of my BIO classes I have taken in college which I really enjoyed so as me new tshirt. Good job guys!

I’m a fan of the Resist Today aesthetic as a whole, probably because it reminds me of my own. Many layers, combining obscure and obtuse imagery…so much more interesting then the piles of gunky auto-traced and pseudo-funny designs you see on other to-be-unnamed sites. I’d love to have every single one in my t-shirt junkie collection; hell, the Circulate design would look fantastic on the back of one of my jackets.

I love your designs. Just wish that it wasn’t the same old tired ‘Bush bashing’ liberal slant. Would be nice to have different approach and explore some positive aspects of life.

I love the support the suits print the best! At first glance, it’s a humorous image, but I sense that there’s more to it. I think that it’s making the argument that certain buisnessmen don’t use their brains; they become machines that are programmed to type, or do other mindless work.
It’s just a guess. I could be completely off.
Anyway, I love the new prints! Keep them coming (and for girls too)!

I’ve frequented this site since last year, when I had the opportunity to snag the last of the orange Freak Show shirts along side my favourite Bureaucrat; the combination of the two making the majority of my T-Shirt wardrobe. I have frequently been asked where I got them, just as many times as I was asked to explain the significance of the Bureaucrat design, and I would point them toward the site.
The downfall and dreary side to this being that one year, where almost no new male shirt designs came out. The art blog was consistently updated with a wide variety of awesome artists and promised a new desktop background regularly. When the contest to rearrange the photoshop files came up I tried fervently to create something ingenious, but couldn’t match anything that Red Labor came out with (though I conversed with Josh about the fish tank design as I had ironically created a similar design days prior).
So my life’s tales aside, I basically wanted to say thank you finally for coming up with some new shirts. As I always was I am scrounging for some money to buy Leaves Emerge as number one, followed by Circulation and then Veins of Thought. And of course if the funds exist I was more than pleased when the Corporate Welfare wallet came back a few months back and have been itching to snag one (edit, they are gone again).
In case you hate reading essays: summary: Josh and Dave, you guys rock, thanks for making new shirts; keep them coming.

Thanks to everyone for the very nice notes! I’m sending a few of you some shirts and everyone else will get some stickers, pins/buttons and post cards.
I know we’ve been a little quiet lately, and it’s been hard because Josh and I both have full-time jobs. But we’ve got a lot planned for 2009 including about 8 new shirts, new bags, one-of-a-kind wallets, limited-edition wallets and a whole bunch of new art. And that’s just in January.
